Abstract

This study aims to analyze the relevance of profit and equity values after the implementation of PSAK 71 in banking companies listed on the Indonesia Stock Exchange (IDX) with a total data observation period from 2017 to 2024, where the main post-PSAK 71 period is 2020 to 2024. PSAK 71 introduces a forward-looking Expected Credit Loss (ECL) model in recognizing impairment losses (CKPN). This change has an impact on financial statements, particularly by reducing profit and equity. The study uses a quantitative approach with a modified Ohlson model, where the PSAK 71 dummy variable and its interaction are included to test the difference in value relevance before and after the implementation of the standard. The results show that the value relevance of profit and equity remains significant after the implementation of PSAK 71, with the value relevance of equity strengthening while the value relevance of profit remains relatively stable. These findings contribute to the development of the literature on value relevance in the era of IFRS-based standards and provide practical input for regulators, investors, and banking management
